All fire authorities in full or corporate membership of the Local Government Association (LGA) have the right to representation and voting on this commission in accordance with Article 13 (and Annex 2) of the LGA Constitution, Standing Orders and Political Conventions
The formal board meets quarterly, and there are also informal business meetings and field trips held in between. The formal meetings are held at University of Hertfordshire Sports Village conference rooms, the Informal business meetings are held at County Hall or Hatfield Fire Station and the field trips anywhere in Hertfordshire where there is a topical case to use to exemplify a county-wide or national access issue.
