Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF) is an
independent charity that aims to encourage local philanthropy, the
giving of time, resources or both by local people to help support
their local communities. it endeavours
to foster a strong sense of community and joint responsibility to
create sustainable ways to solve local issues through local
investment. Since inception in 1988, we
have awarded over £12 million in support to local
communities. The Foundation currently manages over 100 funds on
behalf of individuals, families, companies and other organisations.
We provide:
• philanthropy
advice and giving options for individuals, families, businesses and
charities
• funding and
other support for groups and individuals
• leadership
on vital issues in our communities
Board meets 3 times per year but with other
incidental meetings and events also taking place. The Board meets
at Foundation House, 2-4 Forum Place Fiddlebridge Lane AL10 0RN. The function of the HCC
rep is linked to their role as part of the localism portfolio and
to represent the HCC on the award of the Community Grants Scheme.
It is also a useful forum to liaise with other significant people
within the county.
