STOP the move of The Bishop's Stortford High School and refurbish or build a new school on site

We the undersigned petition the County Council to Stop the move of Bishop's Stortford High School to the Whittington Way site. It is a perfectly good high performing school where it is and instead of spending money (probably £30 Million) on a new school, spend the money modernising the existing school or building a new one on the existing site where there is space to do so.. And to withdraw the planning application PL/0095/19

If built on the the Whittington Way site as proposed it will cause local traffic problems around Thorley. Additionally if this is built on the Whittington Way site then there is a plan to build 200+ houses on the original school site where there is only access via local narrow estate roads. More problems caused.

The existing school appears to have suffered underinvestment in the infrastructure in an attempt to justify the move. HCC should invest in modernising the school or building a new one or some new facilities on site where there is space to do either or both.
